The January 16th league match between AUST and AUB was halted on 38 minutes due to the referee deeming players’ safety at risk after a brawl had broken out leaving high tension.

The incident surrounded a legal tackle on AUST player-coach Rabie El Masri, who was winded as a result. His brother Ahmad El Masri, apparently took offence, triggering a fight that escalated.

The match was 6-4 to AUB at the time.

The LRLF executive committee expects a decision and a statement to be ready by the end of the week.
