|LRLF LOGO REVEILED
Last Updated: Sunday, June 27, 2010.
The Lebanese Rugby League Federation had left no stone unturned in Lebanon and abroad to find the symbol of its future. For the past six months it has searched for an iconic symbol that will represent the future of Lebanese Rugby League. After a worldwide competition the Federation has chosen its winning logo, created by Mr. Bashir Srour of Beirut.
When asked about the logo‘s concept, Bashir’s beliefs were as simple as they were unique “the created concept is very simple I’ve tried to integrate two elements; the rugby league ball and the Lebanese flag since we're representing the LRLF; thus the curved shape symbolizes the ball and I tried to feature it in an artistic way and the Lebanese Cedar is represented by the inner strokes, as for the number 13 "XIII" depicted in Roman numerals" is internationally known as the symbol of Rugby League. I tried to keep the same artistic curves used with the rugby ball. As for the colors used in the logo, the choice of red is based on the concept of strength and power, the green represents the color of the flag's cedar. The font used is notorious for its sharp edges representing the intensity and roughness of the game."
The LRLF wishes to congratulate Bashir and thank all those who showed interest in being involved in our game's future, with a special thank you to Mr. Jean-Paul Zakhour for overseeing the competition.
