MATCH REPORT:

In a hard fought and often ill tempered battle, Serbia claimed a draw to show how their young side is maturing rapidly under John Risman’s guidance. The match was an end to end battle with first Serbia leading after Zoran Pesic’s 7th minute try, then Morocco hauling them back with two tries from Lahcen El Bouchti and Salim Sabri to leave the half time score at 6-10 Morocco.

The action immediately switched again in the 4th minute of the second half as commentators nightmare Nemanja Popsogorovic went in to take the Serbians back into the lead after Dalibor Vukanovic converted. Morocco answered back with a try by Tareq Bliel, but Illias Lamarti missed the conversion to give morocco a slender 14-12 lead.

Marko Zebeljan took the lead back for Serbia as the game went into the last 10 minutes and Vukanovic converted and then added a penalty for good measure 3 minutes later, giving Serbia a 6 point advantage. Serbian dreams of a first international win were dashed by Housssine Fakir who crashed in to score in the last minute. This time Lamarti was on target and Serbia were happy to settle for a dramatic draw. Serbia did well to hold the Moroccans in the second half, with two players sin-binned as the game grew increasingly tense.
