PRESIDENT'S XIII SQUAD ANNOUCED
Last Updated: Wednesday, February 28, 2007.

Stage two of the selection process for Lebanon's elite domestic rugby league players arrived with the announcement of the President's XIII squad following Saturday's extended trial day. In what will be Lebanon rugby league's first genuine trial match, the President's XIII will take on the incumbent Liban Espoir squad on Saturday in Bhamdoun (2pm kick off), after which the LRLC will announce the 2007 Liban Espoir squad. Over 50 players took part in Saturday's trial, with grueling fitness tests interspersed with skill drills enabling the coaching staff to gauge the technical, physical and mental level of the players. Champions LAU provide the largest contingent to the 18-man President's XIII squad, which includes four former Liban Espoir players as well as two rookies in AUB's Wael Harb and Balamand's Andrew Dahdah.

Liban Espoir will tour Serbia in August with the LRLC attempting to schedule a match against UNIFIL, the country's security situation permitting.
